25 things from our NYC trip (Time Square)

Based on our trip in New York city, we stayed in Time square.

1 Uber from JFK airport to Time SQ is about $60, 55mins ride with traffic
2 At $200 a night, we got a Hotel room in Time SQ pretty small room but clean and convenient, we stayed at The Gallivant Times Square (48th Street).

3 Tim wanted to book hotel in Time SQ so we could go out, but on our first night t we went to bed about 9pm!
4 A Broadway play is a must in NYC.  We were so glad we stayed close enough to walk (just 2 blocks) to our theater from our hotel in Time SQ to see Wicked.
5 Wicked is my first Wizard of Oz story.  Wicked tells the unbelievable backstory behind The Wizard of Oz’s Glinda the Good and Elphaba.
6 Smart dress is the best dress code for a Broadway play, but you can be casual or fancy!
7 Tim made me eat at Applebees in Time SQ for our first meal.

8 We like China town, we haven’t been back to visit Thailand for a year and China town made me feel like home.

9 The evening liberty cruise does NOT allow you to get off the boat and walk around at Liberty Island.  But we enjoyed it…

New York Harbor and Statue of Liberty Evening Cruise, $31 each

10 I would like walk around the Liberty Island but not in the afternoon in summer time (too hot!!!)

11 The sea port looks like a great place to hang out in the evening, we had only one margarita, just one!

We saw this giant mermaid margarita on Insider Food facebook.  The  Watermark Bar is right next to the pier we went for Evening Cruise tour, so we had just one!

This is $80 margarita called the Siren, it’s 114oz of frozen margarita, sangria swirl with edible orchids!!!
PS: you can’t keep that mermaid glass!

12 If you have time, you can walk over the Brooklyn Bridge.
13 Big Bus tour starts very early in the morning, you can get tickets at Time SQ or every station!
14 Tip is 20% or more in NY
15 Subway signs in NY are a bit of a mystery, we figured out travel in non-English speaking countries much easier than New York!
16 Most NY Subway stations have only ticket machines, don’t be mad if the 3 ticket machines are out of service and you have to walk to another side to find the machine that works and walk back to your station!!!
17 A typical breakfast in NY is a bagel but you can find something else to eat in the morning.
18 If you are big fox & friend’s fan and want to be on the morning news, you can go to see them live around 6-9am daily, they always have something special for crowds.
19 NY t-shirts are available in many shops around Time SQ but you can find more banned versions in China town
20 he original road in China town is MOTT
21 We had a foot massage in China town (NY) at half price we had in New Orleans, and it’s a real foot massage!!!
22 I found a Thai grocery shop in Chinatown, NY
23 Little Italy is right next to Chinatown, good stop for Macaroni & home made Italian ice cream
24 We had a hard time to rent a car at Dollar…
25 No matter where you go from JFK, you have to prepare more time, it’s a huge airport, we get lost just following the signs to get in!!!

I will put more pictures soon, thanks for reading…
