Great Wall of China

กำแพงเมืองจีน

Today is the highlight for our trip in Beijing because we are going to The Great wall of China, it’s one of 7-wonders of the world!!!

After we stopped to visit Ming Dynasty Tombs, we headed to the Great Wall and it took about 1.5 hrs from Ming Tombs to the great Wall (Or about 2.5-3 hrs from Beijing City to the Great Wall).

I didn’t realize I have to take the cable car!!! That my first thought when we got here, the tour guide provided us with the tickets for the cable cars.
It’s small and good for 4 people…It’s kind of scary when I was in small cabin as it’s pretty high from the ground!

Good view, I can see the great wall already!

It’s April and it’s very nice weather, just right to have a light sweater…

The entire great wall is 21,196.18 kms (13,171 Miles) and it’s more than 2,500 years old!
So there are some sections that do not allow tourists to visit.

Today our tour guide took us to Badaling section because this is the closest to Beijing. It’s pretty crowded today!
FYI: Mutianyu section is the other closest one to Beijing.

It’s quite a hard walk up the part that lays over the top of the mountain, so I would suggest you to have sport shoes and you are ready for a good walk…

Get out from the crowd…and take some picture!

Some picture from our fan! This is what September looks like…

All you can see is the great wall and it just keeps going… .
We took about 1 and half hours on the wall – it’s very amazing time up there…I’m sure that you will love it here like I do….

For Thai people don’t think to look for shopping opportunity up there!
Yes, there are some things to sell on the great wall but there are just small tables and it’s about Great Wall souvenirs only.

Just like me, I got a key chain which the seller made my name and the date.

There are some shops on the ground where we got off the cable car but it’s kind of insane price for me.
Just like the set of 12 postcards at $15!!!
But the seller tried to do the magic trick by decreasing price (automatically) for us, $12….$10….$8…until “how much you can pay?”…

But we didn’t get it because they are so aggressive to our tour guide while our tour guide tried to whisper to us that it’s not the right price… (We got our set of postcards for a buck)…
End of Great tour today we are back in town…
Tomorrow, we will visit Hutong, the old town and The summer Palace.
