Ideas Day Trips

Are you planning on Bangkok travel in the future?

Whatever the reason, if you intend to visit Bangkok for a few days or a few weeks, some great travel ideas and tips on where to go and what to see are listed here just for you!

1. First step in Bangkok? The Grand Place!!! Why not? When a real palace open for you to visit. The Grand Palace was built in 1782 the same time the city of Bangkok Was built. The royal temple is inside the palace, which houses the statue of Emerald Buddha. After at least 2 hours in the Palace, walk to the peir “Ta Tien”, it’s Wat Aurn‘s peir, you will be taking the ferry across at a cost of about 4 baht. This is a famous Choa Phraya Riverbank landmark opposit the Grand Palace, best known for its 79 meter high central pagoda. Cross back to the peir for Wat Pho, the most beuatiful Reclining Buddha. Wat Pho is where you can try the original Thai massage!
If you can finish before 1pm, then try Longtail Boat Canal Klong Tour, see why Bangkok used to be called “The Venice of the East” by exploring its canals and the communities that still live on them.

2. “Pure Ayutthaya” Visit our old capital city, experience Thailand’s ancien heritage and THE WORLD HERITAGE! Ayuttha is not in Bangkok, it’s about an hour away. There are lot of things to see and to do in Ayutthaya. You can start there about 9am to visit the Royal Palace “Bang Pa-In” also known as Summer Palace. Afternoon, visit the ruins. As I will recommended to Wat Phra Si Sanphet, the lagest temple in Ayutthaya. Viharn Phra Mongkol Bopit, an impressive building that houses a large bronze cast Buddha image. Wat Phra Mahathat, where you can spot the famous tree that has grown around a Buddha head. Wat Yai Chaimongkon, The large pagoda from far away, and some it’s ruins appear on well known photos of temples in Thailand.

3. “Kanchanaburi – the scene of the World War II -The Tiger Temple”  This is a little far away from Bangkok (2.5 Hours) but it’s worth it!!! Just try to get up early and leave Bangkok around 7.30 in the morning. then you can visit, The World War II Cemetery – the allied prisoners who perished while building the Death Railway. Then go see the Death Railway, the world-famous Bridge over the river Kwai, from here you can walk to visit World War II Mesuem or take a ride through history on the Death Railway Train(1hr)or take a ride on a long tail boat for sighseeing along river Kwai (2hrs), stops to walk down the cave and meet the monkey at Monkey School! Then ride for another 45 mins to The Tiger Temple (Remember: you should get there before 2pm), there are much more fun with Tigers, you can pat and feed the tigers like they are just a cat! By the way, if you leave the tiger temple about 4pm, you can try to take a shower with elephant at Elephant Camp!

4. Visit 2 Floating Markets!!! The most popular tour from Bangkok “The Damnoen Saduak Floating Market” is located in Ratchaburi Province about 2 hours away from Bangkok. The Floating Market is a very attractive place for tourist to see the old style and traditional way of selling and buying fruits, vegetables, etc. from small boats. Here you can take long-tails speed boat through the many small canals. Or visit the Cobra Show where you will get so close with cobras! Remember that everything starts early and finished early at 11 am too.
Then leave for 2nd “Amphawa Floating Market”, this market is afternoon floating market which starts around 3pm. If you get there before the market ready, try the service boats for sightseeing along river Klong. By the way, if you can stay overnight, the firefly trip is the most well known and popular trip at night by boat as well.
