Trip from Pai to Mae Hong Sorn 2/2

Continued from Trip from Pai to Mae Hong Sorn 1/2

The trip from Pai to Mae Hong Sorn cost only 600 baht but stop for 9 places, we got a lot pictures that’s why we have to separate this thip to 2 episodes…

There are another cool 6 places in Mae Hong Sorn and we really enjoyed them…

Let’s start continueing to (4) Phasue Water fall is considered the most beautiful waterfall in Mae Hong Sorn, especially during the rainy season.

This waterfall, about 20m-high and 30m-wide, consists of six levels and offers some nice walking paths.

The clear water makes all fish appearing so close – Just like I can catch them!

(5) Mud Spa – Phu Klon
Do you know? There only 3 mud sources in the world and one is in Mae Hong Sorn, Thailand?!?!?

The other 2 mud sources are the Dead Sea in Israel and Jordan, and Volcano lav mud in Romania….
Phu klon geographically means a mud source and natural mineral spring which is between 60-140 C. Rising together with the mineral water boiling black mud that is clean, free from sulfur smell and full of healthy mineral for the skin and blood circulation…Don’t miss out..

Try it! Facial mud is 60 baht ($2) and hot spring to soak your feet is 20 baht ($0.7) and it takes about 15 minutes.

First wash your face, then the facial lady will put mud on your face before going to put your feet in hot nature mineral water…

Foot is getting HOT – Face is getting DRIED!
I could remember that one of my pimple poped out after washed!!!
If you are interested to try this mud, you can visit their site: http://phuklon.co.th/  They sale some mud from Mae Hong Sorn in Bangkok as well.
NOTE: bring your lotion, sun block, or makeup you’ll need that after you wash!

(6) Next stop… Long neck Village – Revolt of the rings.
In Thailand, ” a sub-group of the Karen ethnic from Burma, who place brass rings around their neck and lower legs. They live in three special villages accommodated for tourists along the Thai-Burma border (Baan Nam Din, Baan Nai Soy and Hauy Sua Tao)

The Baan Nai Soy is far away from the city…but the real life of the Long neck villagers is there! (we already put that in as one of our destinations for the next visit!)
Today the guide took us to “Hauy Sua Tao”, the nearest Long neck village from the town…. Tourists can walk in the “long neck” Huay Sua Tao village, there are about 20 houses of The “long necks”.

The entrance fee is 250 baht (~$9) but free for Thai!

I like to compare long neck women in Mae Hong Sorn and Chiang Mai, they look different.   For my opinion, the long neck women in Chaimai looks like city long neck women!

Or you can try to be just like them….A long neck woman tried to put brass coil (half) on one of us… I think it means he’s married now (good trick!)

You can take pictures with them or buy souvenirs from this long neck village…

(7) Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu (The temple on the hill) overlooks the town from the west and offers superb views.

(8) Fish Cave where a water channel leads out into a small submerged cave.

Nobody knows what’s inside the cave, but astoundingly it draws thousands of fish with only a small number of them coming back out from the cave!
The Fish cave is in the national park and its 20 baht admission for Thais and 100 baht for foreigners.

But guess what? All the fish here loves to eat only fruits!!!

At this stop, the tour guide driver will let you eat something here, because this will be the last program stop before another 3 hour ride back to Pai!!!

(9) View Point (Kiw Lom) This is an interesting view point where you can see the mountain range…

Before another hour, we gotta say good bye to our guide (the driver).
The tour started at 5am and was over about 6pm…Long day trip but it is definitely worth it.

Did I mention the 1,864 curves from Pai to Mae Hong Sorn? Oh, and if you get car sick, sit up front!

We voted!!!
The group decided that the top 3 programs for Mae Hong Sorn were; 1. The long neck village, 2. Phasua Waterfall and 3. Mud Spa…

  1. Hi…I think it depends where are you from? But MHS offers many hotels and local tours. From my experience, I went to Pai and found the day tour to MHS at the night market…
It hard to book online because most of them are local companies…but I think you can find when you get MHS.
    Have fun!

  2. Hi, May i ask if i want to stay at MHS for 1 night, can the tour stop me at MHS? or i should go until MHS only find day trip? do you have more information to share? thanks.
