The pottery village (and Museum), fun stop if you are looking for Korean Pottery.
We went there during Covid-19 in early 2021, the village was very quiet, the museum was closed on the day we visited, the HANDS-ON program was not available.
BUT IT WAS FUN TO WALK AROUND THE VILLAGE, most of the shops are open but only a very few tourists today.
Onggi (옹기) means Korean Earthenware. There are so many kinds of Onggi like cups, pots, plates or jars, etc.
Ulsan is about 45-60mins drive from Haeundae beach in Busan.
The Village and the museum are normally opening every day EXCEPT MONDAY.
There is no entrance fee if you just wanna walk and shop around the village. We took our dog there too!
I wanted to get some Kimchi pots to take it back to the USA. I found out this is the right place because Onggi Village is the largest producer of the traditional Korean earthenware in Korea!
During normal times (without a pandemic), there is a Hands-On program that will show you how to make Kimchi and how to make the Kimchi pot!
Dang, it!!! I missed them all when I was in Busan and my husband worked in Ulsan during 2018-2019 (before the pandemic!)

The guy at this shop is very excited to see us, he showed us his pictures in the magazine – he looks so proud himself. Just too bad, this is not a good time for his business.
We were thinking to get the face pot for our garden, but I just changed my mind (no space in our car!)
We ended up shopping at the shop in front of the museum, they seemed to have more varieties of stuff at one shop.
The kimchi pots are very cheap but more expensive for decorative items.
We spent more than 500,000won today! We made a good deal with them (I think I got a 70,000won discount LOL).
We got a lot to bring back our home in the USA!
