Living in Lake Conroe Texas [Restaurants by the water]

Where to eat in LAKE CONROE, Texas!

This post will talking about the  Restaurants by the water, the restuarants can be access by boat and car in Lake Conroe.

There are many restuarant on Lake Conroe…  I will start the ones we like to go to the most.  These are the restaurants I have been to so far- so I will keep updating my list here!

Our house is near the 1097 bridge, it will take about 20-25 boat ride all the way down at the South end of Lake Conroe.

There are 4 stops we like to explore in this area.

and I’d like to start from the bottom of the lake, just because there is more stuff to do and to see there!

Waterpoint at Marina (Number 1-3 from above map)

There are so many shops around – lots of space to park your car (free).   Good view point – it’s absolutely a great spot to stop in Lake Conroe.

Our top 3 restuarant in this area are Fajita Jacks, Monty’s Lighthouse and Akashi.

1 Fajita Jacks

This is my husband’s favourite Mexican Restaurant in Lake Conroe!  We’ve been there a couple times in the past month!

Fajita Jacks can be VERY CROWDED during  the weekend.  We went there on a Sunday during lunch and we were waiting almost an hour in line!

2 Akashi (Japanese/Chinese/Asian Food)

It’s good to live where they have more choices of food to offer!  This is the other options I like where I can get to eat Asian food in Lake Conroe.

We ordered our food and drink but after we ate, we didn’t feel like we had enough to eat.

So I ordered Crispy Duck which they served with soft tortillas and your choice of Fried Rice or Steamed rice.

We are sure to come back here for the Crispy Duck.  It tastes almost like Peking Duck!

3 Monty’s Lighthouse

If you like Cajun food, this is a MUST VISIT!  (If you go there by boat, Monty’s is behind Fajita Jacks)
First time we have eaten here and we were impressed! The food was absolutely fantastic.  The Service was nice too…
They are also serving boiled crawfish when in season (in 2023, we have seen the sign for crawfish starting in March!)

From the Marina, it’s only another 2mins driving or less than 5 mins ridding boat – there are 2 other big restaurants, Conroe Lake House and Papa’s on the Lake.

4 Conroe Lake House

Good stop for burgers!!!  The Conroe Lake House is good stop for family, friends or just couple!  They also serve boiled crawfish when in season!
We really enjoyed the Margaritas here!  Just wondered why they don’t put prices in the DRINK menu???
I didn’t get to take picture with the receipt since the young waitress only showed it on her handy machine.  Look like the jumbo margarita costs as much as the burger!
We liked the food we ordered today – but the burger is a little bigger than what we anticipated and we couldn’t finish it all….

*My Hang Over Burger which I could eat just half of it…it’s good but it’s quite big!
They are only young people working here…I feel like this is another version of  a Hooters restaurant!
This is all close to Lake Conroe Park where you can play water – swim – picnic or fish!
We took the kids back to Lake Conroe during Memorial holiday – it was a a little DISAPPOINTING – we were waiting for food too long and it came out cold!

5 Papa’s on the Lake

6 Walden’s Lakeview Dining & Venue

You need to dress up a bit for this restaurant!  And I think it’s another good one for DATE NIGHT or special occasion dinner!

In fact, we went to eat here during our first trip to Lake Conroe.  We stayed in Airbnb condo right next to this restaurant.

It was great view, good food, nice serving – this is also absolutely good idea dinner for date night!

7 Guadala Harry’s Bar & Grill

Great lakeside bar food. It is located right on the lake so it’s nice to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the view.

They have live music!

Guadala Harry’s food & drink are good, it’s a little pricy for local like us -I ordered the Shrimp Platter – it was good but it’s $32…

8 North Lake Grill
