Cheongsapo Daritdol Observation Deck (Skywalk), Busan

When I wanted to try the Korean Sea eel, let’s go to Cheongsapo!

(ภาษาไทย)
This is about 10-15 mins taxi away from Haeundae beach, it’s on the other side of Dalmaji hill.

Cheongsapo Daritdol Observation Deck (Skywalk) is an exciting new structure for a leisure excursion in the Cheongsapo area, just opened in 2017. It gives you an exciting opportunity to walk 72.5m out on the glass-floored observatory, 20m above the ocean with a view of the unique beauty of the mainland’s coastal areas.

From Haeundae beach, we took taxi to Cheongsapo was 5000 won (~$5), there are taxis in-out in this area almost of the time, so you won’t have any problem to find the taxi back.

Or if you take your car, it’s easy to find parking spot as well.

Taxi dropped us here, it’s in the middle of the Cheongsapo area where we can see the lighthouse.

We were here at 2pm in July, it’s summer in South Korea – so it’s hot!

But we planned to eat first. (So if you want to read about Skywalk, please scroll all the way down).
Cheongsapo Seafood Town (also known as ‘Cheongsapo Grilled Clam Village’) is particularly famous for its countless restaurants providing fresh raw seafood, grilled clams, shellfish and eels at affordable prices. And yes, it’s why we’re here!

One of the most famous local Seafood BBQ shops is named Su-me-nee-ne (수민이네), no English sign but I’m sure you can find it.

There are many options on the Korean Menu but one of the ladies in this shop can speak English enough to understand what we wanted.

We ordered a combination set (Clams, Shrimps, Scallops, Shells) and one small eel, altogether was 110,000won (~$100).

Full table of food just for two of us, ha!

I love the way they help with the Korean BBQ, they are very good and do most of the cooking for you!

It’s all fresh, sweet and NOT fishy smelling like what we thought, DELICIOUS, Ma-si-saw-Yo!

Just grill and eat, it’s fresh like it jumps out of the ocean to your mouth!

Or you can eat like the typical Korean BBQ style, wrap with sesame leaf and eat!

Shew-gee-yo (the waiters) will change your grill if it’s getting too burned and they even watch the way you cook. If they saw something wasn’t right, they will come to check for you.

See how fresh the sea eels I had, they are in the big water tank in front of the restaurant. I’m sorry I just ate one of your friends!

After we finished our meal, it’s time to walk the SKYWALK.

The walk way to the Sky walk is lined-up with the seafood restaurants. I think I’m glad to have my own list to stop for eating, if not I don’t know which one I’d pick!

Cheongsapo Daritdol Skywalk is free entry, open from 9am-6pm but longer during the summertime.

To protect and maintain the transparency of the glass floor (in some areas), you are required to wear a pair of shoe covers. The shoe covers also function as non-slippery gear as their rubberized materials on the bottom parts. These are provided for before you enter the observatory.

It’s very quiet place and you can see the locals fishing around the area.

Cheongsapo Daritdol Skywalk offers visitors an opportunity to walk 72.5m out on the glass-floored observatory, 20m above the ocean. This is the 3rd Skywalk in Busan.  First Skywalk is Oryukdo Skywalk (15m long) and 2nd is Songdo Skywalk (365m long).

From here we can see where we started (Seafood BBQ), and the Dalmaji Hill.

“Fish Wish”

There are many wooden fish that you can buy (3 for 5000won) and write down your wish and hang it here.

There is a local shop next to the Skywalk, it’s a good stop for a souvenir and coffee.

We walked down back to find the taxi but stopped at the local snack truck. Try the waffle with honey (2000won), it’s good and sweet.

If you come early, you will have a fantastic view of the sunrise. And in the late afternoon, you can experience the colors of the sunset.

Today our expenses (7/14/2019)
Taxi (round trip from Haeundae) 10,000won
Seafood BBQ 110,000won
Snack 3500won
Total 123,500won or ~$120
