Chasing Hydrangeas in Goseong, South Korea

Manhwapangcho (KR: 만화방초), the Secret Garden has a variety of flowers and greenery, famous for hydrangeas blooming between June- July.

Man-wha-pang-cho (KR: 만화방초) is one of the most popular places to visit during the hydrangeas bloom (June to July) in Goseong.

This is about 40 mins away from Okpo in Geoje where we live, and there is 2000-3000won each for admission, open 9am to 6pm every day during Hydrangeas season (the other season, you have to check again).

From Okpo to Manwhapngcho or the Secret Garden, we paid 1600 won for toll-way (3200won for a round trip).

Once your navigation system says it’s only 1km away from the destination, be ready for a parking lot. We visited this place during the weekend, and it was crowded!

Tip, you can drive up to the hill to park your car. We parked on the side of the road because we saw other cars were parked along the road. So once we saw a spot, we just parked!

But then we have to walk up to the hill, it’s about half of kilometer walk!!!

They are a lot of visitors today, so it’s hard to get lost, just follow the crowd.

At the entrance gate, we paid 3000won each to get in. The ticket lady yelled to us “MAT-SA-KEU!!!” I knew exactly what she asking.. “wear the MASK!!!”

The Entrance and ticket booth, adult 3000won, children 2000won (~$2-$3 each).

Once we got inside, we tried to walk away from the crowd (I would like to get some pictures with flowers, not with people haha)…

It’s not that comfy to wear the mask during summer time…hard to breathe!

The map is only available in the Korean Language, but still showed us how far we can go (it’s not that complicated).

There are so many Hydrangeas in different colors/shades.

All the visitors were running into the bushes to get the best picture, me too (but I tried to touch it very soft, really!)

We are feeling like we are only the foreigners here today!

We got too many pictures with Hydrangeas LOL!

Turkey House…

Coffee shop inside the garden.

The place is good to visit once if you are living around Tongyeong, Geoje, Busan or in South Korea.
