Purple Craze Summer, lavender of Geoje Island best bloom between June-July)

Jiseposeong (KR: 거제 지세포성) is 10 mins from Okpo, past Geoje Sea World.  This is a free and easy hike (pretty much flat)

Address:
Seonchang Village Hall
경남 거제시 일운면 지세포해안로 214
214 Jisepohaean-ro Irun-myeon Geoje-si Gyeongsangnam-do

Parking#1: when you get into the area, you will see the big tree on your right (opposite water), turn in and you can park your car here.

If you can park here, you can walk to the Lavender Field (white arrow).

But if you missed this parking lot or it’s full of cars, you can go a little more to find another parking lot. We parked right next to the fishing area.

Parking#2 : Where we parked our car.

After parking, we can see the lavender field on the top of the hill.

This is the way to walk to the Lavender field, “Jiseposeong” from the main road.

Keep following the signs.

Sometimes we just followed the locals.

Travel around Geoje Island during “New Normal”, we have to have the masks on for Covid-19 (June 2020)

It wasn’t a long walk to reach the top for the field.

We were trying to find the Fortress first as its name “Jisepo Fortress”, but we weren’t sure these rock walls are the “fortress”?

Or just a pile rock…?

It looks like the city walls to me…

There are lots of hiking trails but today we’re here for the lavender field.

The most popular time to visit is for sunset.

Looks like they are planting more lavender but the one that is blooming is on the top of this hill.

So there will be more people on the top where the lavender already blooming.

More people when it’s getting closer time to sunset. During Summertime, the sunset here is about 7-7.30pm!!!

The Lavender field wasn’t that super big like what I was imaging… But it was nice.

The lavender does make it more beautiful and unique on this hill!

I didn’t smell any lavender here, I truly thought it would be a strong smell like the many house spray/oil essential in lavender we have at home.

The village that we walked up there from top view.

Good to breathe the fresh air (we just finished 14day -quarantine after we came back from US to South Korea!!!)

Easy hiking…only a few dirt steps here.

More baby Lavenders…

After we walked back to our car.

The water is very clear.

Fishing raft, I think we have to pay to get in there.
We drove along the road until the dead end.

We parked the car here and walked, there are many people camping and fishermen all along the jetty.

Fishing…

It should be a good spot for fishing, really!

As I mentioned, we went here to celebrate our freedom after 14days quarantine (Travel back from the USA during Covid-19).

It’s a good spot for pictures…good fresh air, AND GOOD TO GET TO GO OUTSIDE!!!
