Our Charbroiled Oysters Party and Manam Seafood

Our Charbroiled Oysters Party and Manam Seafood (Manam is seahorse in Thai).
One of our foreigner friends who works and lives in Thailand missed Charbroiled oysters so much that we decided to bring his tradition to Thailand!

I know how great Charbroiled oyster are because tried a dozen when I went to visit New Orleans in early 2014 at Drago’s. It was different!!! Because Thais eat raw oysters with stuff like chili paste, seafood sauce, fried onion, vegetable, etc.  But the Charbroiled Oysters are cooked and so cheesy!

Anyway, the party needed some preparation, like where to get fresh oysters in Thailand??? Can I just go to the fresh market? But we needed a lot of them, at least 500!!!

Luckily, we found a really good seller called “Ma Nam Seafood”, this is a delivery seafood restaurant only, no table to sit and eat.

It was nice to chat with them about our order for 500 oysters on Facebook (they also have Instragram). Normally they order oysters from a farm in Suratthani and ship by plane. So it’s still fresh!

And they keep them in the right place, a box with oxygen so they all stay alive!

The most of important thing about delivery service is “punctuality”, and this restaurant is really good at it! They shipped all 500 oysters to us on time and packed in an ice box, it’s really NICE!

That’s not of all, they still provided a free big bag of seafood sauce (which I asked for but I thought they would give us just a really small bag). They even gave us some vegetables (which is hard to find in city). So nice, I can’t wait to write something about them!!!

But the more fresh oysters there are, the more we have to shuck! Manam Seafood can shuck them for us at 2bath each. It’s not expensive but all our shuckers like to do it, it’s part of the oysters party…

Charbroiled oysters was developed by Tommy Cvitanovich who owns Drago’s Seafood Restaurant with his parents, Drago and Klara Cvitanovich.

We put oysters on the half shell, and a spoon of the seasoned butter over the oysters and spring some chad cheese, it will overflow into the fire and flame up!

We tried to make it as well as Drago’s but it’s good for us just now…

The best part of the party is what’s cooking on the grill! Not only oysters but shrimp too!!

But most of us can’t stop eating Charbroiled Oysters!!!

Our Oysters Party went very well, good food, good drink and good friends.

If you are looking for Thai seafood, I would recommend “Manam Seafood”, you can order fresh (uncooked) food or cooked food from them. Minimum order is 500 baht, the delivery charge depends on how much the motorcycle taxi charges!!!

Manam seafood has the original branch in Changwattana (Bangkok-Nonthaburi) at 099-393-3859 (Mobile phone), and the Ayutthaya branch can be reached at 083-015-7439. Open 8.00am – 8.00pm (delivery time is between 9am-9pm), allow at least 2-3 hrs for your order.

Here are some favorite dishes that you can try…
